As the president and CEO of Ocean Terminal Services, Inc. (OTS), Nick Tonsich oversees all aspects of operations for a company that provides maintenance services to the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and manages the organization’s team of 120 mechanics, all of whom are members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union. Under his leadership, OTS has earned numerous awards from the Pacific Maritime Association in recognition of its employee safety record. In addition to his role at OTS, Nick Tonsich serves as the president and CEO of Clean Air Engineering-Maritime, Inc. (CAEM), a ship exhaust treatment services company.
Earlier in his career, Nick Tonsich operated as the president of the Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners. In this capacity, his duties encompassed allocating capital and reviewing environmental impact assessments, lease applications, and senior management. In recognition of his achievements during this time, the Grand Vision Foundation named him Man of the Year. Besides leading OTS and CAEM, Nick Tonsich is an attorney with almost three decades of experience practicing the law, with a focus on maritime and environmental law.
In his spare time, Mr. Tonsich gives back to his community as a contributor to several charitable organizations, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor and the Providence Little Company of Mary Hospital Foundation, on whose Board he served from 2001 to 2009.
